Women’s Havurah

Next Women’s Havurah Meeting
Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 pm
JCSVV Social Hall

Brief Business Meeting followed by Ann Metlay’s Writing Workshop.

Using Cynthia Rylant’s book, When I Was Young in the Mountains, as a jumping-off point, Ann will inspire us to assemble a number of “snippets” pop memories. These can stand alone in the manuscript we create with the Havurah, or they might become a vehicle for writing more detailed memories at another time. She assures us that the exercise is gentle and fun and that the rewards can be great. Come share what happened to you when you were young!

Ann wants to remind all participants to bring their favorite writing tools – pen and paper, iPad, laptop, cell phone, etc. for the Writing Workshop which will follow Business meeting.

TALLIS TZITZIT TYING CLASS

Led by Rabbi Alicia Magal

March 31st at 3:00 pm (MST)
JCSVV Social Hall

Learn to tie tzitzit to create a tallit – prayer shawl – with the traditional, symbolic knots and windings.

Please bring a shawl, scarf, or material in a length that will drape from thigh up to shoulders and down to other thigh.  Reinforce each corner with additional material about 2 by 2 inches, and sew a half-inch buttonhole where the strings will loop through at the corners.

Let Jaine Merliss or the Rabbi know if you are planning on attending so that supplies can be obtained.

For questions ask Rabbi Magal:
