Ongoing Social Action Programs

The JCSVV Social Action Committee Fund was created to support the following programs. Your donation to support these efforts is greatly appreciated. Click Here to Make a Donation (please specify SAC donation when submitting online).

Hope House – Hope House of Sedona is the only facility in Sedona that provides hope for homeless families by providing safe haven for Sedona’s children and families in need of housing. The Social Action Committee provides camp scholarships and needed property items to enhance the living experience.

Community Food Bank of Sedona – Weekly donations sent to the food bank. Also, special High Holy Day collections.

Refugee Centers and Native American Reservations – Clothing drive, and Winter Coat collection.

School Back-pack program with the Community Food Bank of Sedona – We volunteer to pack weekend food supplements for the Sedona students who qualify for this program.  We usually volunteer for Thursday mornings in November and December.

Summer Survival Kits – Donation collection in March and April for the homeless people served by the Old Town Mission in Cottonwood. We collect items including tents, sleeping bags, hats, visors, sun screen, bug spray, and other safety products for summer needs or SAC will collect and donate cash and checks so the Mission can purchase these items.

Rotary Club’s Community Garden – We donate vegetable and fruit plants to the Rotary Club’s Community Garden in the Village of Oak Creek (VOC) in the spring and fall. Our SAC Committee members are very concerned about food sustainability in our community and this provides the means to support this issue.

Social Action Shabbat – Honoring community volunteers at a Friday Shabbat service in January.

Additional programs to be added as approved and organized by the SAC Committee.
