Weekly Torah Portion: Beha’alotecha

The Torah portion of the week is Beha’alotecha (Numbers 8:1-12:16) in which the Israelites receive instructions regarding Passover. They journey forth from Sinai and complain to God on several occasions, provoking God’s anger. Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses. When Miriam is stricken with a scaly affliction, Moses offers a short heartfelt prayer for her healing. That prayer is the basis for our healing prayers today.
