  • Tickets must be presented at all High Holy Day services.  If you forget your tickets, a Day Pass will be issued with               appropriate identification.

ACCESSIBILITY:  Handicapped seating options are available.  Ushers will guide you to a comfortable location.  If you need any other type of assistance, please try to let us know in advance.

PARKING:  Additional parking is available at Christ Lutheran Church and in visitor spaces at the adjacent firehouse.  The Friendship Walkway that connects our Synagogue to the Firehouse and Christ Lutheran Church is open and lighted for evening services.

TALLIT.  Please remove your tallit before entering the restroom.  There are hooks outside the restrooms for your convenience.

TASLICH: Tashlich is a ritual that many Jews observe during Rosh Hashanah. “Tashlich” means “casting off” in Hebrew, and involves symbolically casting off the sins of the previous year by tossing pieces of bread into a body of flowing water.  Just as the water carries away the bits of bread, so too are the sins symbolically carried away.  In this way, the participants hope to start the New Year with a clean slate.

  •  Directions will be available to the Tashlich location for 2017 / 5778.
  • Children are welcome at Tashlich but must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

TEMPERATURE:  While we do our very best to make the building as comfortable as possible, it seems that there are only two settings on our thermostat: too hot or too cold, depending on where you are seated and the nature of the weather.  Our advice is to dress in layers and bring a sweater or jacket!

SOUNDING THE SHOFAR:  We welcome you to the Bima at the conclusion of the Neilah Service to blow your Shofar.  If you have taken a class or simply want to wow us with your ability, please join us!  All ages are welcome.  Make sure to bring your own Shofar.

BREAK-THE-FAST:  A JCSVV Community Break-the-Fast is organized by volunteers from our synagogue.

Location of Break-the-Fast:   Christ Lutheran Church at 25 Chapel Road, which is on the other side of the Firehouse located next door to the synagogue.  The Friendship Walkway that connects our Synagogue to the Firehouse and Christ Lutheran Church is open and lighted for the evening.
